Driftwood explores the façade of the alternative scene, its connected social circles – graffiti artists, underground music, illegal raves, etcetera – and the realities of the lifestyle. With the new perspective that growing up provides, Iglesias tries to understand their own impulse for involving themselves in this community when they were a teen while photographically navigating their own life as an adult, creating opportunity for self-definition and understanding. Utilizing text and photography, the work tries to understand the future for young people.
