Driftwood investigates the nature of belonging and the communities young people align themselves with. After moving to a truly urban environment for the first time, Alexander searched for things that felt familiar - finding loud music and stunning nature. Oscillating between these two environments, Alexander explores the intimate and bizarre environment of urban life while finding moments of peace and self reflection in the natural world that surrounds it. Photographing the youth that inhabit urban environments, the communities they create, and realities of their lifestyle amidst the global issues of our time, Iglesias examines what it is to be young in the modern age.
